Panel #4 has landed, detailing Action Abe’s origins (albeit in shorthand)
There was some discussion among us awhile back on what A.B.E stands for, i do believe we settled on something along the lines of “Autobiographical Biological Entity.” Abe is like the T-800, basically being modeled after the American President. After watching Terminator Salvation this weekend, it seems fitting we’re doing the bit on Abe.
Speaking of which, I checked out Terminator Salvation and thought it was a great flick. I simply don’t understand what critics and other movie goers are talking about when they say this movie is terrible (Batman & Robin was terrible). After all, your making a movie about machines killing people- the original B-movie fest that was ‘Terminator’ didn’t exactly draw Oscar nominations. It was a great to see some traditional special effects being used again (the late great Stan Winston was involved in the movie’s sfx before his passing) which gives the machines that creepyness only found in traditional effects work. All in all i thought it was a great addition to the movie series and for me ranked as being better in most aspects to it’s predacessors.
it’s a movie people, It’s ok to have fun and let go of reality. It doesn’t have to be the next Casablanca- if you watched it and had fun, it was a success. So, If you’re looking for a great action flick- go check this film out.
